It has been a while since my last post. In the meantime I got a little boy Jim (already three years old now!).
He asked me to make a ladybug lantern for the lantern parade that will be in town. So I did!
I created the ladybug with; news papers, black-, white- and red kite paper, black and red card board, double sided tape, pipe cleaners, scissors, two balloons and wallpaper paste.
My inspiration is the ladybug on the following picture which I got from Pinterest. (Sadly enough I cannot find the original link.)
I started making wings and decided to make the body a little more realistic. Instead of a project of an hour, it became a more-than-one-day project.
His sister Emily has tested the lantern. And they love it! (You can see the light shining trough the eyes and the wings.) She asked for a snowdrop latern… probably my next project
